 FCCLA

Purpose and History:

1.      To provide opportunities for personal development and preparation for adult life.
2.      To strengthen the function of the family as a basic unit of society.
3.      To encourage democracy through cooperative action in the home and community.
4.      To encourage individual and group involvement in helping achieve global cooperation and harmony.
5.      To promote greater understanding between youth and adults.
6.      To provide opportunities for making decisions and for assuming responsibilities.
7.      To prepare for the multiple roles of men and women in today's society.
8.      To promote Family and Consumer Sciences and related occupations.
 
This club has been around since 1945. All of the members have been making a difference in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education. As of today there are over 205,000 members throughout the United States.

Special Functions:

Saint Jude Letter Writing Rally (for the second year in a row), Morbid Nights, Project Linus, providing Halloween Carnivals for the Elementary School, and blood drives.

 

Achievements and Accomplishments:

Having a state officer this year is a great accomplishment. There are only 13 totally and Brad Archer from Roosevelt is lucky to be one of them. We had to students qualify for National Leadership conference in Chicago. The students were Katie Novasad and Savannah Hook. They both had received silver metals which is impressive.
 
 

 

Members: 
There are many students who are involved in FCCLA but in order to be in the club you have to pay your dues. So far the students that have paid are Danielle Liges, Laura Eckdahl, Josh Hoffman, Sarah Dailey, Esmeralda Martinez, Paige Dymond, Christa Tate, Casey Davin, Taylor Leal, Savannah Hook, Kendall Hyland, Adrianna Nelson, Rachel Roper, Aly Fajardo, Lindsey Roper, Holly Babb, Brad Archer, Sierra Sielding, Katie Novosad, Rebecca Bullard, and Ariana Ingalls.
