Knowledge Bowl
Purpose/History
Knowledge Bowl is an academic competition that is sponsored by the Northern Plains League.
The intent of knowledge bowl is to give recognition to Roosevelt students who are committed to scholastic excellence.
At a knowledge bowl meet the students take a written test with 60 multiple choice questions. Team members and substitutes (up to six (6) persons) may participate in the written round. No calculators or any kind of reference materials may be used. Written test scores are totaled, and the oral rounds are organized according to cumulative scores as a power tournament. In the oral rounds a team will compete with four (4) members. Substitutes may be entered between rounds or at the midpoint of an oral round.
The rounds will be structured as follows:
Round 1 – Written – comprised of 60 questions
Round 2 – Oral – comprised of 50 questions
Round 3 – Oral – comprised of 50 questions
Round 4 – Oral – comprised of 50 questions
Round 5 – Oral – comprised of 50 questions
Competition will occur simultaneously in all rooms.
