Basketball, wrestling teams in heat of battle

The Roughrider wrestling team is showing their impressive skills again this season. So far, the Riders have won

every dual and every invitational tournament in which they have competed. Although they remain ranked second behind Bromfield, the Riders are making their mark and will surely challenge the Eagles for the state title next month at the Pepsi Center. Another remarkable fact regarding the RHS wrestlers is the Rider JV team is ranked 11th in the state.

The boys’ basketball team is on a slow start to their season. Their record is 4-7. The boys have lost four of the six home games but have won two of the five games on the road. They seem to be falling behind because as a team they play a good first half, then fall behind in points in the second half because of turnovers.

The girls, for the most part, are doing what they always have done, winning. They haven’t had a loosing record since my freshman year and are still producing numbers. The girls have a record of 8-3 winning all the games at home except last Saturday against Berthoud and losing two of the six games on the road. The girls are dominating the court, putting up more than twice the points as the competitor Northridge last Tuesday.
