RoughRider Soccer History

The RoughRider Boys Soccer program officially began in the fall of 2009.  The team was officially announced and a coaching staff assembled in the spring of 2009.  The team played a junior varsity schedule its inaugral season (fall 2009) hosting teams such as Denver South, Estes Park, Windsor, Beth Eden and Frontier Academy.  The Riders hit the road for contests against Denver East, HERZL, Brighton Collegiate, Estes Park, Prairie View and Windsor.

The Riders finished their inaugural season with 10 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie.  For the season the Riders averaged 4.3 goals scored to 2.4 goals against. 

The Riders played their inaugral varsity season in the Fall of 2010 as members of the 4A Tri-Valley Conference.  The Riders started their varsity history with an exciting 2-1 win over Fort Morgan at George Hall Field in Johnstown.  Luis Tavizon scored the first ever varsity goal in the history of Roosevelt RoughRider Soccer.

The Riders went on to learn to compete at the varsity level finishing the season with an overall record of 3-12, with all three of their wins coming on their home field.

After the 2010 season, the Riders graduated 5 seniors who have gone on to enroll in college or serve their country in the armed the forces.
