RIDER WEEK IN REVIEW
Week of October 5th
RHS Athletics was busy this week as the first round of fall sports was coming to a conclusion. Sophomore Dylan Bigler competed in the 4A state golf championships and more than held his own on a very tough Country Club of Colorado course in Colorado Springs. On Tuesday, RHS softball hosted the first round of the CHSAA 4A softball state playoffs and beat Northfield to move onto the Elite 8. Yesterday, in the Elite 8, the Riders lost 10-4 to a really good D’Evelyn team who was the #2 seed in the tournament.
Also yesterday, the RHS cross country teams competed in the Regionals at Lyons High School, where the boys finished 10th and the girls finished 6th. On the girls’ side, Allison Beard finished 12th, Gracie Leal finished 13th and Lili Leal finished 14th. All three girls earned all region honors. Congrats to all of our Rider athletes in boys’ golf, softball and boys' and girls' cross country for a terrific season and for staying disciplined and safe through all of the Covid protocols!

RIDER WEEK IN REVIEW
Week of September 14
The RHS softball team had a big week as they went undefeated in the Berthoud tournament with wins over Northridge (13-4), Berthoud (15-0), Adams City (15-0) and Loveland (6-5). Over the weekend, Malaya Coleman, Maerron Lovern, Alex Cantu and Bridget McNeil all hit big home runs to help lead the Riders. Malaya Coleman also handled most of the pitching duties. The Riders are currently 8-2 on the season, and are ranked #9 in 4A in the state of Colorado. This week, the Riders play Tuesday at Mountain View at 4:00 pm and will then take on #8 Frederick at home on Thursday at 4:00 pm at Nelson Fields.
Cross country is off to a good start, and has hosted a couple of conference meets at Lake Park in Johnstown. It’s the first time that the cross country program has hosted meets since 2000. Thanks to Coach Joiner and his staff for setting up and handling the logistics of these races as many other districts are having a difficult time hosting events amid the Covid restrictions. On the season, Freshman Lily Leal is off to a terrific start, including a top 10 at the Erie Invite and the 6th fastest freshman time in school history! The Riders have also received strong performances from Allison Beard, Gracie Leal, Kevin Smith, Andrew O’Brien, and Noah Zander.
The boys’ golf team is in full swing and has already competed in several conference matches. Last week, the Riders finished 9th out of 19 teams at the Fort Morgan Invitational, where sophomore Dylan Bigler tied for 5th overall with a score of 81. The Riders have also gotten solid performances from Will Loecke, Michael Wall, Ian Fenn and Matt Loecke this year on varsity. The Riders will be competing at Boomerang Links Golf Course in Greeley on Tuesday and at Todd Creek Golf Club in Brighton on Thursday.
RHS Dance Team recently participated in the NDA Dance Camp where Avery Stratton, Chloe Sauer and Adriana Tori were honored with the NDA All-American Award by exemplifying dance technique excellence, superior showmanship, spirit and leadership. These 3 girls will now be given the opportunity to take part in performances hosted by NDA all over the country.
RHS Cheer is currently doing a yard sign fundraiser for the program. If you are interested in participating in the fundraiser, please check out the attached PDF.
